PAFFA-232-G is a gas-fired, pass-through aging furnace with doors at both ends, designed for aging aluminium extrusion profiles in baskets (T5 / T6). One batch holds 12 baskets for 6 m profiles: 2 side by side, 3 levels high and 2 rows. The usable chamber length is 14 m. The master model of the series is an 18-basket profile aging furnace we built and commissioned ourselves, working in an extrusion plant (PAFFA-332-G); the series is derived from it by width, levels and length.
Roller conveyors and pass-through operation
The baskets enter the furnace from the roller conveyor on the entry side, and the aged batch is taken out on the roller conveyor at the exit side. The roller lines are driven by geared motors and chains. Loading and unloading happen at opposite ends; while one batch is in the furnace the next is prepared on the entry conveyor.
Hydraulic doors
Each end has a door lifted vertically by hydraulic cylinders; once the door is down, its frame is pressed onto the opening by horizontal cylinders for a tight seal. The hydraulic power unit sits on the platform above the furnace.
Heating and air circulation
The furnace is heated by a natural-gas burner; the circulation fans on the roof drive hot air between the baskets along the chamber. The fans, burner and hydraulic unit are reached for maintenance from the railed service platform.

Series
The PAFFA series has 18 models: the code gives the number of baskets side by side (1–3), levels (2–4) and rows (1 row = 7 m, 2 rows = 14 m chamber). The smallest is PAFFA-121-G (2 baskets), the largest PAFFA-342-G (24 baskets). For basket aging of parts see our BAFFA series, for cable drums the CAFFA series.
