Grade options (as defined in the manufacturer catalogue):
- Graphite: very good thermal conductivity and chemical resistance against fluxes; especially for zinc melting and induction furnaces.
- Graphite IM: very good resistance against oxidation; melting and holding of all aluminium alloys, particularly holding processes.
- SiC X: very high thermal shock resistance and thermal conductivity, excellent oxidation resistance; melting and holding of aluminium alloys in electric and fuel-fired furnaces.
- SiC XO: high hot bending strength; melting heavy metal alloys in fuel-fired furnaces and melting aluminium scrap.
- SiC XY: highest hot bending strength and refractoriness; precious metals and heavy metal alloys under highest thermal stress.
