Kanthal Super ER 4/9 is a molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) based high-temperature heating element with a maximum element temperature of 1580 °C. Combines the features of alumina formers with the higher temperature capability of MoSi2; usable in oxidizing, inert and reducing atmospheres. It is used in laboratory, sintering, glass and ceramic furnaces at temperatures beyond the reach of metallic wires.
