Description

The 1000 Kg Electric Tilting Crucible Furnace (TMFFA-10-E) is our resistance-heated, hydraulically tilted crucible furnace for melting aluminium and its alloys. We design the furnace from the inside out, starting from the crucible: chamber size, heater layout and insulation thickness are defined by the real dimensions of the crucible used.

Heater layout: hexagonal chamber, 3-tier heating

The chamber is laid out as a hexagonal platform. The wall on the tap-out side carries the crucible support brick and has no heaters, to avoid any risk from molten metal. On the other 5 walls the heater blocks are stacked in 3 tiers; each tier is one phase of blocks connected in series, so the bottom, middle and top of the crucible heat evenly. The tier ends are joined at the star point with a heavy copper bar.

Easy maintenance

Block-to-block connections are made with flexible bars outside the insulation. A failed heater block can be removed and replaced on its own, without dismantling the insulation.

Tilting and pouring

Tilting is hydraulic. Molten metal is poured in a controlled way through the crucible’s tap-out spout directly into the mould or ladle.
