CBF and CBGF series: electric car bottom furnaces

In car bottom furnaces the load is placed on the rail-mounted car outside the furnace by crane and the car is pushed in, so heavy and bulky welded structures, castings and forgings are easily charged for stress relieving, tempering and annealing up to 950 °C. In the CBF series the door swings sideways (2–20 t, 5 sizes); the CBGF series combines the same body and car with a guillotine door lifting vertically in a tower (2–40 t, 6 sizes). The pass-through DDCBGF series has the same guillotine door at both ends of the furnace; the car exits either way (2–40 t, 6 sizes).

How to choose the size and door type

• Charge size and weight: Your largest part must fit the usable size (W × L × H) and the charge weight the maximum charge; both are on the product pages.
• Door: If there is no room in front of the furnace for the door to swing, or the crane loading area is tight, the guillotine-door CBGF is the right choice.
• Heating rate: The product pages give the heating rate calculated with maximum charge; with a lighter charge the furnace heats faster.

Standard on every size

• 250 mm Z-block ceramic fibre module insulation on walls and roof; it stores little heat, so the furnace heats and cools quickly.
• FeCrAl spiral elements on ceramic tubes, hung on support bricks on side and rear walls; a firebrick ledge protects them during loading.
• Car with cast refractory hearth, sand seal, bolted easy-to-service casing; on CBGF a counterweighted chain-driven door, pneumatic clamping and radiation screen.
