Mineral Insulated Thermocouples
The element wires are embedded in compacted magnesium oxide (MgO) inside a thin metal sheath. The sheath can be bent to fit tight and curved mounting positions, and the small diameter gives a much faster response than metal-tube thermocouples.
- Sheath: Inconel 600 (type K, 1200 °C) or stainless steel (type J)
- Diameter: Ø3 – Ø8 mm · Length: 250–1000 mm
- Bending radius: approx. 6 × sheath diameter
